Lauren Highsmith is a General Education Instructor for Atlanta Institute of Music and Media. She is responsible for teaching the writing and reading-focused general education courses. She also teaches English and African American Studies-focused courses at Emory University. Her latest article will be published in the book ‘The Lemonade Reader: Beyoncé, Black Feminism and Spirituality’. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Hampton University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in English at Emory University. Lauren also works as a songwriter and vocalist for recordings and live performances.
