About this Program
Students pursuing the Performance Certificate at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media are given the educational setting necessary to hone their technical and musical abilities as well as their performing abilities.
The Performance Certificate curriculum accomplishes this through class and practical application instruction, audio and video computer lab instruction, and live clinics featuring some of today's most well-known and innovative engineers, performers, and producers.
Professionals with relevant work experience, certifications, and/or degrees in music or engineering teach the Performance Certificate at the AIMM. These qualifications equip them to instruct the rigorous performance, engineering, and production curriculum.
It is the belief of Atlanta Institute of Music and Media that music, along with its many technological facets, is the universal language and, therefore, welcomes students from diverse backgrounds.
This program’s stated objective is to provide the knowledge and assistance in producing a recorded portfolio needed to obtain employment or self-employment in music performance and music production used in the world wide web, movies, television, radio, record labels, video film multimedia production studios, and live recording for bands and churches.

• Extensive Musical Curriculum Experience: Music students can sample musical flavors from a variety of genres such as jazz, classical, rock, folk, blues, and R&B.
• Job Placement Upon Graduation: If you're not looking at starting your own music production company, how nice would it be to graduate and already have a lead on a job? Our students work with a Career Placement Specialist to create a resume and begin exploring in-field employment opportunities during the final quarter of their studies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1: Does AIMM offer on-campus housing?
AIMM does not have on-campus dorms, however, once a student is accepted into their academic program, they have the option of being placed on our “Housing & Roommate List.”
Our Career Services department can then reach out to the student to help find nearby, affordable housing. If the student requires a roommate, Career Services will help find a roommate of similar age and program of interest.
Question 2: Does AIMM accept financial aid?
AIMM currently administers the following Title IV Federal Aid Programs:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Direct Loans
- Federal Direct PLUS Loans.
- Once a student has been accepted for admission to AIMM, and has applied for Federal Financial Aid, their Financial Aid File will be processed.
All Federal Aid Applications and required supporting financial documents must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the student’s first day of class.
Question 3: Is AIMM scheduling in-person tours during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Out of an abundance of caution, AIMM is currently suspending on-campus tours due to COVID-19. However, you can book a one-on-one virtual tour with an admission advisor here.
