Applying to AIMM is Simple and Fast
At the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, we’ve made the application process easy—everything you need is in one place and can be completed quickly. Whether you’re a future producer, performer, or media professional, our Admissions team is here to help every step of the way. From your first click to enrollment, we’ll make sure you have the guidance and support to start your creative career with confidence.

Admissions Process
Getting started at AIMM is simple. Once you create your application account, you’ll have access to everything you need—your application, entrance exams, audition submission, transcript request, and FAFSA link—all in one place. The process is designed to be easy to complete, and your Admissions Advisor will help guide you through housing options, FAFSA follow-up, and orientation once your application is complete.

Step 1: Complete Your Online Application
Create your AIMM account, fill out the online application, and submit it for admissions consideration—all from your student portal.

Step 2: Apply for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Use the FAFSA link in your application portal to apply for financial aid. We encourage all students to apply to help fund their education.

Step 3A: Complete the Music Production Entrance Exam
If you’re pursuing the Associate of Applied Science in Music Production and Audio for Media or the Certificate in Music Production, complete your entrance exam directly in your application portal.

Step 3B: Complete the Entrance Exam and Submit Your Video Audition
If you’re applying for the Associate of Applied Science in Music and Technology or the Online Certificate in Music and Technology, complete your entrance exam and upload your video audition from your portal. In-person auditions are also available by request.

Step 4: Request and Submit Your Transcripts
Request your official transcripts from your high school, GED program, or college and have them sent directly to AIMM. You’ll find transcript submission instructions in your application account.

Step 5: Stay Tuned for Your Admissions Decision
Once you’ve completed your application and submitted all materials, you’ll receive your admissions decision from our team.

- Optional: Apply for Financial Aid
- For Veterans: VA Certificate of Eligibility
- For International Students: Copy of Passport
- For International Students: Proof of Funds for Tuition
FAQ's
You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in high school or college, or a GED score of 600, with at least 150 in each test category.
Music Production & Audio for Media (AAS): entrance exam only.
Music & Technology (Guitar, Drums, Bass, Keyboard, Voice) and the Online Guitar/Bass Certificate: require the entrance exam plus a video or in-person audition.
Yes! Once admitted, you can complete the FAFSA (AIMM school code 031045). Federal Pell Grants, Direct Loans, and PLUS Loans are available. Aim to submit 30 days before classes begin
AIMM does not have dorms, but once accepted, students get access to a Housing & Roommate List. Our Admissions team can help connect you with roommates in similar programs.
Yes—the Online Certificate in Music & Technology (Guitar and Bass) is entirely online. Other programs are hybrid: a mix of online and in-person classes..
AIMM accepts official electronic transcripts, sent from school officials via school email or through your school’s transcript service. Student-submitted copies (e.g., PDFs from personal email) are not accepted.
