Certificate in Music Production

The Certificate in Music Production is a 36-credit program conducted in AIMM’s exclusive facilities, which include professional recording studios, computer labs, and a live performance concert hall.

This program is designed to equip you with the core skills needed to become a successful, professional sound engineer—while also empowering you to grow as an artist by learning to create, record, and produce your own music. You’ll gain hands-on experience in tracking, editing, mixing, and mastering for both analog and digital music production.

As an official AVID Training Partner, AIMM offers you the opportunity to become Pro Tools Certified as part of the curriculum. You’ll also train extensively in Ableton Live, a powerful tool for both music production and live performance. Along the way, you’ll develop essential knowledge in microphone techniques, virtual instruments, audio effects, music theory, and keyboard skills for the digital audio workstation.

Whether your goal is to work behind the scenes or propel yourself forward as an independent artist, this program provides the foundation to succeed in today’s music industry.

Performance Certificate

AIMM’s Performance Certificate consists of instrument courses designed to provide the student with the necessary education to further his or her music performance abilities and to facilitate the student’s ability to gain employment in the field.

The student will select one of the following as an instrument concentration:

Guitar
Bass
Drums
Keyboard
Voice

The performance certificate can be completed in 12 months (4 quarters) of ¾ time enrollment.

Note: All of the courses in the Performance Certificate fully matriculate to the Music and Technology Associate Degree program, should a student decide to continue their studies at AIMM.

Online Certificate in Music and Technology

The Online Certificate in Music and Technology is a 36-credit program offered entirely online and fully transferable to AIMM’s Associate of Applied Science in Music and Technology Degree.

Designed for intermediate musicians, this program combines focused instrument training with essential music production skills. Students choose a concentration in guitar, bass, or keyboard and complete courses tailored to their instrument while also learning to record, mix, and master music in a professional digital environment.

This certificate is ideal for musicians looking to advance both their technical performance and production abilities. It provides a flexible yet rigorous path for those who want to become well-rounded, self-sufficient artists in today’s music landscape.

Proficiency on your selected instrument is required for admission, as outlined in AIMM’s admissions procedures.
