Overview

AIMMs Online Guitar Certificate program, the Online Music and Technology Certificate with a Focus on Guitar, teaches you to perform live and in the studio in a variety of styles, including blues, jazz, rock, fusion, progressive rock, and Latin.

You will take online courses in scales, chords, reading, music theory, performance, music appreciation, music business, and even life skills.

The Certificate program is offered 100% online and contains bass guitar courses designed to provide the student with the necessary education to further their musical and recording, and engineering abilities.

Curriculum

Atlanta Institute of Music and Media provides an Online Certificate in Guitar and Technology consisting of courses that are both performance and music theory-based, including detailed theory lessons and playing techniques. Online bass guitar lessons are a core part of the curriculum, ensuring students get a comprehensive understanding of bass lines and bass playing techniques.

Admissions Process

Once you’ve completed all the steps in the following process, your Admissions advisor will guide you on housing options, FAFSA follow-up, and orientation.

    Step 1: Complete Your Online Application

    Create your AIMM account, fill out the online application, and submit it for admissions consideration—all from your student portal.

    Step 2: Apply for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

    Use the FAFSA link in your application portal to apply for financial aid. We encourage all students to apply to help fund their education.

    Step 3A: Complete the Music Production Entrance Exam

    If you’re pursuing the Associate of Applied Science in Music Production and Audio for Media or the Certificate in Music Production, complete your entrance exam directly in your application portal.

    Step 3B: Complete the Entrance Exam and Submit Your Video Audition

    If you’re applying for the Associate of Applied Science in Music and Technology or the Online Certificate in Music and Technology, complete your entrance exam and upload your video audition from your portal. In-person auditions are also available by request.

    Step 4: Request and Submit Your Transcripts

    Request your official transcripts from your high school, GED program, or college and have them sent directly to AIMM. You’ll find transcript submission instructions in your application account.

    Step 5: Stay Tuned for Your Admissions Decision

    Once you’ve completed your application and submitted all materials, you’ll receive your admissions decision from our team.

International Students

The Associate of Applied Science in Music Production & Audio for Media is available to international students holding an M‑1 or F‑1 visa. International applicants should submit a completed admissions application, transcripts, passport copy, proof of funding, and a completed entrance exam or audition for their program at least six months before enrollment. Once admitted, students begin visa processing and must pay tuition before each term, just like domestic students.
