Ashley Spann is an Instructional Designer for the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media. She is responsible for creating online course content, overseeing marketing and social media, and filming, photographing, and editing student performances to showcase AIMM’s vibrant community. With a background in media production and creative storytelling, Ashley connects her passion for education and the arts to help students share their talents.

Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Ashley studied at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!), where her capstone project involved working as a Boom Operator and Sound Mixer for a local feature-length indie film in Eugene. A few years after relocating to Atlanta, she shifted gears during the pandemic and enrolled at AIMM, graduating in 2023. She then joined the school’s technical department as an instructional designer and media personnel. She has appeared as a background extra in shows such as Stranger Things, Black Lightning, and Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, adding another unique experience to her creative journey. Ashley is passionate about bringing stories to life through sound, visuals, and media.

Outside of AIMM, she enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and watching movies.
