Matt Aston

TV Audio Engineer for the Real Housewives of Atlanta and more.

“Without going here, I would have never gotten my internship, never worked with some of the artists that I did, and I would have never decided to stay in the field of audio. AIM constantly pushed me to search for something bigger and better.”

Matt Aston is a versatile audio engineer and sound technician whose work spans television, film, and music production. A proud alumnus of the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, Matt began his audio journey working live sound for local bands before discovering AIMM and transforming his passion into a full-fledged career. While at AIMM, Matt sharpened his skills in mixing, EQ, and post-production—skills he credits as foundational to his success.“The mix class was a game changer for me… AIM gave me the tools to apply that to my own work.” Shortly after graduating, Matt secured an internship at Tree Sound Studios, where he engineered sessions for platinum artists and deepened his industry experience. He then transitioned into television and film, landing audio roles on major productions including T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, The Dub Magazine Project, Auction Kings (Discovery Channel), The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Big Rich Atlanta (Style Network). His credits also include work with Candy Burruss on The Kandi Factory and collaborations with major hip-hop artists like Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz. Matt continues to thrive in Atlanta’s booming film and television scene, using the hands-on training and industry insights gained at AIMM to build a career that’s both diverse and impactful.
